Joe Aidoo joins Cork City, vows to make immediate impact
Ghanaian midfielder Joe Aidoo has pledged to make a meaningful contribution to Cork City after completing an 18-month move to the League of Ireland club.
The 26-year-old joins Cork City from Saudi Arabian side Al-Sharq as the club strengthens its squad for the second half of the season.
Speaking after finalising the transfer and arriving at the club’s Bishopstown training base, Aidoo said he was excited to begin a new chapter in his career and help the team achieve its ambitions.
“I am really happy to join the club. I hope to make a big contribution in the second half of the season and help the team achieve their targets,” he said.
Aidoo arrives in Ireland with experience gained across several countries. During his career, he has featured for clubs in Ghana, Cameroon, India, Nepal and Saudi Arabia, bringing a wealth of international experience to Cork City’s midfield.
The Ghanaian believes his versatility, commitment and experience will help him settle quickly and make an immediate impact.
He also expressed his eagerness to play in front of Cork City’s supporters, saying he is determined to reward their backing with strong performances.
“I am looking forward to playing in front of the Cork City fans, and I hope I can deliver for them,” Aidoo added.
His signing provides head coach Barry Robson with additional options in midfield as Cork City look to build momentum and achieve their objectives during the remainder of the campaign.
Aidoo’s arrival marks another step in the club’s efforts to reinforce the squad, with hopes that his experience across multiple leagues will strengthen Cork City’s push in the second half of the season.
