Ghana football has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Stephen Appiah, a rising football administrator who served as General Manager of PAC Academy and a respected member of the Ashanti Regional Football Association.

Appiah passed away on Wednesday after being rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

Widely regarded as one of the brightest young administrators in Ghanaian football, Appiah’s loss has left a huge void within the local football fraternity. He previously held key roles at Achiken FC and Future Stars FC, where he earned a reputation for his professionalism, selflessness, and deep commitment to the development of grassroots football.

At PAC Academy, Appiah dedicated his energy to nurturing young talents, playing a pivotal role in shaping the careers of several promising players. His vision and drive for youth football development won him admiration from colleagues, clubs, and players alike.

Tributes have since poured in from across the football community, with many describing him as a “true servant of the game” and a “visionary leader” who made an indelible mark despite his young age.

Appiah will be remembered as a passionate football man who gave his all to the growth of the sport and the dreams of countless young players in Ghana.

His passing is a devastating blow, particularly to football in the Ashanti Region, where his influence was most strongly felt.
