Ghana Football Association’s Director of Marketing, Jamil Maraby, is set to be officially unveiled as President of the WAFU Zone B Marketing Committee on Friday, May 9, 2026, at the organisation’s headquarters in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Maraby, one of West Africa’s most respected sports marketing professionals, was appointed to the role at the 18th Ordinary General Assembly of WAFU Zone B held in Rabat, Morocco, in December last year — a decision that signals the sub-regional body’s intent to sharpen its commercial edge.

His appointment comes as part of a landmark restructuring at WAFU Zone B, which for the first time in its history has constituted a dedicated Marketing Committee — a move seen as a major step toward building a more commercially competitive and visible football body across the zone.

He will be joined on the committee by Abdoulaye Diabaté of Côte d’Ivoire and Tiendrebeogo Jérôme of Burkina Faso. The trio will be charged with driving marketing strategies, attracting sponsorships, and locking in commercial partnerships to power WAFU Zone B’s competitions and programmes.

At the GFA, Maraby has built a strong track record of securing high-value sponsorship and partnership deals that have bolstered the financial sustainability and brand appeal of Ghana football , an experience he is now expected to bring to bear on the wider West African stage.
