Tarkwa-based side Medeama SC have been crowned champions of the 2025-26 Ghana Premier League after a dominant 5-2 victory over Heart of Lions secured the title with one game still remaining.

The Mauve and Yellow sealed their second league triumph in emphatic fashion on Sunday, delighting supporters with an attacking masterclass that confirmed their return to the summit of Ghanaian football.

Medeama’s latest success comes three years after the club claimed its first-ever top-flight title during the 2022-23 season, when they finished the campaign with 60 points in a historic breakthrough achievement.

Heading into the decisive weekend, Medeama were locked in a tense title race with Gold Stars. But while the Tarkwa club produced a commanding display against Heart of Lions, their closest challengers slipped to a 3-1 defeat against Dreams FC, a result that opened an unassailable five-point lead at the top of the table.

Players and fans erupted in celebration at full-time as the final whistle confirmed Medeama as champions once again.

The victory underlines Medeama SC’s growing influence in Ghanaian football, with the club continuing to establish itself as one of the country’s strongest and most consistent sides in recent seasons.

With one league match still to play, the title has already been decided, as Medeama add another chapter to their rising success story.
