The Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana has formally invested Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I with leadership of the religious organisation, positioning the son of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka to steer the institution forward.

The installation was marked by an announcement posted to the mission’s official Facebook platform on Sunday, June 21, 2026, accompanied by a congratulatory message and video documentation of the historic transition.

The mission characterised the moment as a “significant milestone” and petitioned heaven for divine assistance as its new leader assumes his responsibilities.

In the accompanying statement, the mission reflected on the enduring impact of its founder, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, expressing confidence that his pioneering work and spiritual vision would continue to shape the organisation’s trajectory for generations to come.

The leadership transition, however, arrives amid a complex backdrop. Reports have surfaced suggesting that court action seeking to prevent the installation has been initiated, while additional accounts reference a shooting incident allegedly involving Sarah Adwoa Safo, the former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya.

Despite these complications, the mission has proceeded with formalising the succession through public announcement and celebration of the new leader’s appointment.
