Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz says 25 players are fit and available for Saturday’s World Cup match against Colombia, with defender Kojo Peprah Oppong the only absentee.

The Black Stars face the South American side at Kansas City Stadium, knowing victory would send them into the last 16 of the 2026 Fifa World Cup.

Speaking ahead of the game on Thursday, Queiroz said his preparations had been strengthened by the return to fitness of almost his entire squad.

“Regarding injuries, 25 players are ready to play against Colombia,” he said. “The only player who did not recover in time is Kojo Oppong Peprah.”

Oppong, who plays for French club OGC Nice, has been ruled out after failing to recover from a knock picked up in training.

The 22-year-old featured in Ghana’s group matches against England and Croatia and had provided pace and composure in defence.

His absence is a setback, but Queiroz will be encouraged by the depth now available to him for one of Ghana’s most significant matches in recent years.

Ghana have not reached this stage of the World Cup since 2010, when they made a historic run to the quarter-finals in South Africa.

The Black Stars will hope to create another defining tournament moment against Colombia, who are expected to provide a demanding test in Kansas City.

Kick-off is at 01:30 GMT on Saturday.
