Former Ghana goalkeeper Abdul Fatawu Dauda has completed the UEFA Licence B coaching course with the Football Association of Wales, adding another qualification to his growing coaching career.

The Ghana Football Association congratulated Dauda, who is currently an assistant goalkeepers’ coach with the Black Stars, describing the achievement as an important step in his development after retirement from professional football.

Dauda completed several weeks of coursework, practical training and assessments in Wales to secure the European qualification. He already holds a CAF Licence B certificate obtained in Ghana.

The 40-year-old is part of Ghana’s technical team at the 2026 Fifa World Cup in the United States, where he works under head coach Carlos Queiroz.

Away from the national side, Dauda leads the goalkeeping department at the Right to Dream Academy, helping to develop young players through modern coaching methods and international standards.

Dauda made 25 appearances for Ghana during his playing career and was included in the Black Stars squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

At club level, he played for Ho Voradep, Okwahu United, AshantiGold, Legon Cities, Orlando Pirates, Chippa United and Enyimba.

The GFA said the UEFA Licence B would strengthen Dauda’s coaching credentials and praised his commitment to improving his expertise.

“His dedication to personal development is another important milestone in his coaching journey,” the association said.

The governing body added that it hoped Dauda’s progress would contribute to the continued development of goalkeeping and football in Ghana.
