Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan has expressed his openness to coaching Asante Kotoko, the club he has long supported.

Despite his desire to play for Kotoko before retiring, which did not materialize, Gyan remains interested in contributing to the club in a different capacity.

In an interview on UTV, Gyan responded positively when asked about the possibility of coaching Kotoko.

“Why not? I will gladly accept Kotoko’s coaching job if I’m into coaching,” he stated. Gyan, who retired in June 2023, holds a UEFA B coaching license but is currently focused on other projects.

One of his major upcoming commitments is the All Regional Games scheduled for November 2024.

Additionally, Gyan plays a significant role in the political arena, serving as the leader of the manifesto committee for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign in the 2024 general elections.

Gyan’s willingness to coach Kotoko, combined with his passion for the club and his developing coaching credentials, suggests that he may one day fulfill his dream of working with the team, albeit in a different role than initially envisioned.
