Black stars to move to Kansas for Crucial World Cup knockout clash with Colombia

Ghana’s Black Stars will travel to Kansas City, Missouri, on Wednesday as preparations intensify for their 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32 encounter against Colombia.

The four-time African champions are scheduled to face the South Americans on Friday, 3 July, in a high-stakes knockout fixture as they seek to keep their World Cup dream alive.

Head coach Carlos Queiroz gave his players a day off following the team’s qualification for the knockout stage, allowing the squad to recover after a demanding group-stage campaign.

Ghana secured their place in the last 32 as one of the tournament’s best third-placed teams after finishing third in Group I with four points. England topped the group with seven points, while Croatia finished second on six.

The clash against Colombia represents Ghana’s biggest test of the tournament so far, with a place in the Round of 16 at stake.
