Caleb Yirenkyi is ready for top-five league move – FC Nordsjaelland director

FC Nordsjaelland football director Alexander Riget says Ghana midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi could leave the Danish club this summer for one of Europe’s leading leagues.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season, making 30 appearances in the Danish Superliga and registering two goals and six assists.
Yirenkyi has also impressed for Ghana at the 2026 Fifa World Cup, scoring the winner against Panama in the Black Stars’ opening group match before featuring against England, Croatia and Colombia.
Riget said Nordsjaelland were preparing for the possibility of selling the midfielder, who he believes has outgrown the need for a move to a smaller European league before taking the next step.
“Caleb is about to have played a lot of games, and we have made some plans with him, so it could well be a summer sale because he has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Super League,” Riget told the Transferguru podcast.
“Although I would say that he has looked a little tired towards the end.”
Yirenkyi’s rise has attracted interest from several clubs, with Real Madrid, Arsenal, Brighton and Porto reportedly among those monitoring his progress.
Riget believes the Ghanaian is capable of moving directly to one of Europe’s top-five leagues in England, Spain, Italy, Germany or France.
“He is extremely mature,” Riget added. “We have agreed that he does not need an intermediate step in a Dutch sub-top club or the bottom of the Bundesliga.
“He is ready, we think, to move directly to a top-five league and also a bit higher.”
A summer transfer would represent another major step in Yirenkyi’s rapid development, following a season in which he established himself as one of Denmark’s most promising midfielders and strengthened his profile on the international stage.
