A Cape Coast radio presenter, Lucas Candid Mensah has started fundraising seeking to generate financial support for veteran Ghanaian actor - Kofi Laing, popularly known as Kowhe.

This move by the Darling FM presenter comes after Kowhe made a passionate appeal to the leaders of the country and all Ghanaians to care for ailing actors who through their gift brought laughter and eased tension in many homes.

According to him, writing lengthy tributes to show that you love them after they are dead and gone will be meaningless.

In a recent interview with The Spectator newspaper, Kowhe said some of his colleagues died as paupers because there was no assistance from anywhere, urging that if anybody has any help to offer him, the time is now but not when he is dead.

“Don’t wait for me to die, before you pay glowing tribute to me for my wonderful contribution, your tribute will be meaningless because it will not bring me back to life,” he said.

In a post on Facebook, hashtagged #Help4Kohwe, the Cape Coast based radio presenter appealed to all well-meaning Ghanaians to donate their GH₵10 each in support of the current predicament of the popular actor.

"We are contributing 10 cedis each to support the veteran actor in his current predicament. Remember no little is too small. God bless you", he wrote.

Some donations have since started pouring in for Kowhe as indicated below:
