Edward Omane Boamah was utterly fearless- NDC
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has honoured the late Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, as a courageous and visionary leader whose impact extended far beyond politics.
Delivering a tribute on behalf of the party during the interdenominational state funeral at the Black Star Square on Friday, August 15, NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey described Dr. Boamah as “utterly fearless”, a man who combined political strategy with unwavering national service.
Dr. Omane Boamah was one of eight individuals who tragically died in a military helicopter crash on August 6 in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region. The crash also claimed the lives of:
-
Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation
-
Samuel Aboagye, former NDC parliamentary candidate for Obuasi East
-
Samuel Sarpong, NDC National Vice Chairman
-
Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator
Three military personnel, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah also perished in the crash.
The state funeral brought together government officials, party leaders, military personnel, and citizens to pay their final respects to the eight fallen patriots.
