Fire destroys structures in Klu town; GNFS launches investigation

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has launched an investigation into a fire outbreak that occurred at Klu Town, opposite the EP Church in Koforidua, on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
According to the Service, firefighters responded promptly to a distress call received around 5:30 a.m. and arrived at the scene within five minutes, led by ADO I Sagoe. By the time the crew arrived, the fire had already spread extensively, destroying three wooden structures, a metal container, and several valuable belongings.
Thanks to the swift response, the team successfully contained the blaze and prevented it from spreading to nearby buildings.
The fire was brought under control by 6:58 a.m. and fully extinguished by 8:04 a.m. No casualties were reported.
In a statement, the GNFS stated that their quick intervention helped save several adjacent structures. The Service assured the public that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
