Ghana defender Rockson Yeboah produced a commanding performance as IFK Göteborg secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Brommapojkarna in the Swedish Allsvenskan, scoring the opening goal and delivering a defensive masterclass at Gamla Ullevi.

The centre-back broke the deadlock nine minutes into the second half, rising highest to power home a header from Tobias Heintz’s corner in the 54th minute. It was a deserved reward for a disciplined display that saw Yeboah dominate in both penalty areas.

The visitors responded through Oliver Berg, who finished clinically on the counter-attack to restore parity and set up a tense finish.

However, IFK Göteborg continued to push for a winner and their persistence paid off late in the game. Following sustained pressure and another dangerous corner, Sebastian Clemmensen found space inside the box to fire home the decisive goal, sealing all three points for the hosts.

Beyond his goal, Yeboah was one of the game’s standout performers. The Ghanaian recorded a match-high 13 defensive actions, consistently winning aerial duels, making crucial clearances and frustrating Brommapojkarna’s attacking threats.

The performance adds to an impressive campaign for the 2026 season. Yeboah has now featured in 12 Allsvenskan matches, scoring twice and providing one assist, further establishing himself as one of IFK Göteborg’s most influential players.

Attention now turns to European competition, with IFK Göteborg preparing for their UEFA Conference League qualifying clash against FCI Levadia on 21 July. On current form, Yeboah’s leadership, aerial dominance and defensive solidity are expected to play a pivotal role as the Swedish side look to take a step closer to the league phase.
