His legacy will inspire generations– Bawumia eulogizes Apostle Kwadwo Safo

Former Vice President and NPP flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has paid a heartfelt tribute to Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, the founder of the Kristo Asafo Church and Kantanka Group of Companies, who passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the age of 77.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Sunday, September 14, Dr. Bawumia described Apostle Safo as a visionary leader whose impact extended far beyond the religious sphere.

“I have received with deep sadness the news of the passing of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, a pioneering Ghanaian innovator, and the founder and leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission,” he said.

Dr. Bawumia praised the late Apostle’s contribution to national development through his promotion of indigenous technology, industrial innovation, and philanthropy.

He noted that Apostle Safo’s groundbreaking work in automobile manufacturing, agriculture, and engineering positioned him as a symbol of Ghanaian ingenuity.

“As a religious leader, his open arms received me. Anytime I called on him, I departed his presence with lasting words of encouragement and wisdom,” he added.

Dr. Bawumia extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the Kristo Asafo Mission, and all who mourn the loss, expressing hope that Apostle Safo’s enduring legacy will continue to inspire generations to believe in local solutions, serve their communities, and put Ghana first.

Apostle Kwadwo Safo, affectionately known as the “Star of Africa,” was widely revered for his innovations, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to improving lives through technology and faith.
