Kwahu Obomeng launches 2026 Easter festivities with focus on culture and safety

The Chiefs and people of Kwahu Obomeng have officially launched activities for the 2026 Kwahu Easter celebrations, setting the stage for one of Ghana’s most anticipated annual events.
The colourful ceremony brought together traditional leaders, stakeholders, and residents, all gearing up for the influx of visitors expected during the Easter period.
Speaking at the launch, Nana Owusu Nyame outlined a packed programme of activities, including musical concerts, street jams, cultural performances, and community-based events designed to showcase the area’s rich heritage while entertaining guests.
He called on both residents and visitors to prioritise unity, discipline, and cooperation to ensure a peaceful and successful celebration.
Adding her voice, the Queen Mother, Nana Yaa Kwei II, emphasised the importance of maintaining decorum during the festivities.
She particularly urged women to dress modestly, noting that those found inappropriately dressed may be provided with suitable clothing to uphold the community’s cultural values and dignity.
The annual Kwahu Easter celebration is known for blending vibrant entertainment with deep-rooted tradition, drawing thousands of revellers from across Ghana and beyond.
