Mahama will not abuse his power- Wonder Kutor

Victor Wonder Kutor, a member of the National Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has assured Ghanaians that President John Dramani Mahama will not misuse the party’s current two-thirds majority in Parliament.
Speaking on Point Blank, a segment of Eyewitness News on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Mr. Kutor said the NDC’s 187-seat majority would be used responsibly to drive reforms and pass necessary legislation, not to overreach or undermine constitutional processes.
“I want to assure you and the people of Ghana, this is not a president that will abuse the ⅔ majority we have in Parliament,” he said.
He added that the NDC expects minimal resistance to its reform agenda, given the strength of its parliamentary numbers.
“Basically, the bills, the reforms, the changes we need, we do not see any impediment coming our way,” he said.
Mr. Kutor also praised President Mahama’s leadership, particularly his restraint in wielding executive powers.
“We have a president who knows how to exercise discretionary powers,” he added.
