Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has praised Ghana international Mohammed Kudus for his impressive display in their pre-season victory over Arsenal on Thursday in Hong Kong.
The North London derby ended in Spurs' favour thanks to a stunning long-range strike from Pape Matar Sarr, sealing a memorable win over their arch-rivals in front of an enthusiastic Asian crowd.
Kudus, who featured for 63 minutes before making way for Brennan Johnson, was a standout performer on the day, drawing plaudits from his manager for a well-rounded and dynamic performance.
“I thought he was excellent today — his hold-up play, composure on the ball, and ability to navigate tight spaces stood out,” Frank said after the match.
“His one-on-one skills and chance creation were top class. Beyond that, he put in a tremendous shift for the team. He’s going to excite fans with his attacking flair while also contributing defensively.”
The 24-year-old attacker joined Tottenham from West Ham United earlier this month in a record-breaking £55 million deal, making him the most expensive Ghanaian footballer in history.
Kudus will be looking to maintain his fine form when Spurs face Newcastle United on Sunday, before wrapping up their pre-season schedule with a high-profile clash against Bayern Munich.
