Accra Hearts have qualified for the Semi-Finals of the MTN FA Cup after beating Elmina Sharks by 1-0  at Nduom Stadium.

Defender Caleb Amankwah grabbed the famous victory for the Phobians in the second half of extra time.

The game had seen no goal after regulations time.

It was an action-packed display of  football but largely staged in midfield- leaving goalkeepers of either sides to have little to offer.

They were rarely tested in the game which had Sharks keeping the Phobians attack at bay.

But it was Sharks goalkeeper who fluffed an opportunity when one was offered to him.

His failure to parry away Amankwah’s 20 yards freekick turned to be the biggest mistake of a goalkeeper and eventually the biggest pride for Amankwah, who scored his debut goal for Hearts of oak.

Sharks came into the party right early stage of the encounter to unsettle the Phobians but the defense men of Hearts remained solid for the course.

The win puts hopes Hearts of Oak’s campaign for the season’s double and would be waiting to know their Semi-Final opponents ok Sunday.
