Police, Gold Board launch manhunt for gold smuggling suspects

The Police and the Ghana Gold Board have launched a manhunt for four individuals involved in illegal gold smuggling.
The suspects, named as Abdul Karim, Sadique Abubakar, Muhammed Afsal Puthalan, and Muhammed Nandoli Rafeeq, are part of a group of seven involved in the illicit trade.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, September 16, Ghana Gold Board CEO Sammy Gyamfi revealed that three of the suspects have already been arrested and are in the custody of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
Mr. Gyamfi also announced a GHS 1 million bounty on each of the four remaining suspects.
“We have an arrest warrant for all of them; they are wanted by the police and the GoldBod. If you have any information about them, you can report to the nearest police station or the GoldBod head office. We have a bounty of GHC1 million on each of them,” he said.
