Popular Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has reportedly died at the age of 40.

According to multiple news reports, the actor passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, following a prolonged battle with cancer.

Alexx Ekubo’s absence from the public eye had raised concerns among fans and colleagues, as he had stayed away from social media for an extended period.

The sad news was confirmed by colleagues and close associates on social media, who expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a figure widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s most charismatic and stylish actors.

Reacting to the development, fellow actor Godwin Nnadiekwe said he was devastated by the news, describing Ekubo as “a rare soul” and admitting he was struggling to come to terms with the loss.
