Try me and see – Coach Abdul Razak appeals to GFA for vacant Black Star job

Former Asante Kotoko head coach, Abdul Karim Razak has expressed interest in the the vacant Black Stars head coach, making a humble appeal to the GFA to try him and see.
He becomes the first local coach to have openly showed interest in the job after the exit of CK Akonnor and his two assistants.
The 1978 African best player thinks it’s about time he got the chance to prove his mettle with the very national team that brought him to legendary status.
He is ready to take $5,000 monthly salary, a figure lower than what sacked CK Akunnor was taking.
“Try me and see for the black stars coaching job,” he said in an interview with Kumasi-based Ashh FM.
I’m ready to accept $5,000 for the Black Stars job.”
According to Abdul Razak who led Kotoko to end a 10 years league drought in 2003, the Black Stars need to maintain a more attacking football, which Ghanaians are familiar with.
“My favorite formation are 433 and 442 it’s attacking football system.”
He has previously made similar calls for the job.
He won everything with the 19 78 Afcon Black Stars as a player and went to win the African Best player in that same year.
He is however yet to test his prowess in his capacity as a manger.
The lobbying for the Black Stars job comes on the back of the GFAs decision to sack head coach CK Akonnor on Monday after an Executive Council meeting.
Over 50 coaches are reported to have expressed interest in the vacant job that comes with an arduous task of qualifying to the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Already, a three-member committee has been formed by the Ghana FA to find a new head coach and assistant for the Black Stars within a 72- hour period.
