Visitors to Parliament must enter through ceremonial gate- Alban Bagbin

Visitors to Ghana’s Parliament House will now be required to enter exclusively through the Ceremonial Gate, following a new directive issued under the authority of Speaker Alban Bagbin.
The decision, which takes immediate effect, is part of a renewed push to strengthen security and streamline access protocols within the parliamentary precincts.
Located opposite the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), the Ceremonial Gate will serve as the sole entry point for all non-members of Parliament, including stakeholders, observers, and invited guests.
The announcement was made in an official statement released by David Sebastian Damoah, Director of the Media Relations Department, who said the move is aimed at improving visitor management and ensuring order in the legislative environment.
Upon arrival, all visitors will be redirected to the designated Visitor’s Centre, where they will be subject to a verification process.
This includes identity checks and confirmation of the purpose of their visit. Only after completing these steps will individuals be granted further access into the Parliament complex.
Parliament is urging the public and all relevant stakeholders to observe the new guidelines with what it describes as “the urgency and importance it deserves.”
Officials say the directive is part of a broader series of reforms aimed at enhancing institutional efficiency and safeguarding the safety of lawmakers and guests alike.
