24 year old to represent Ghana battle Nigeria jollof

Jollof is a delicacy in many Ghanaian homes and other African countries,many people salivate over their mere thought of having a plate of jollof rice in front of them.
There has been an age old tussle on social media about which country cooks the most tasty jollof rice,with the Ghana vs Nigeria rivalry reaching our pitch fever when the almighty debate kicks in.
This time round that age old debate will be settled once and for all as 24 year old Ms. Sika Mortoo, an aspiring chef has won the maiden edition of the Onga Ghana Jollof Battle.

She beat of competition from seven other contestants from across the country to get the ticket to represent Ghana against West African rivals Nigeria in the Onga sponsored jollof battle.


That big jollof battle is slated for the 24th August 2019 with the winner picking up a staggering $2000 prize money.
Jollof rice is a one-pot rice dish popular in many West African countries. It is one of the most common dishes in Western Africa, consumed throughout the regions of Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Togo, Liberia, Niger, Mali, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and DR Congo.
It is mostly served during gatherings such as funerals, graduations, weddings and almost every occasion although across West Africa there are several variations of the recipe and name of the dish.
