Bawumia assures Savannah Region of developmental projects

Hajia Marima passed on in Accra at age 81 on September 13, 2021, and was buried in Kperiga, near Walewale in the North East Region.

He thanked the Yagbonwura for sending a delegation to mourn with his family and for the show of love during the funeral rites and told the people of Gonjaland that the Jakpa Palace was his home with the Yagbonwura as his father.

Prospects

According to him, the development of the new region is not about empty political noise but action on the grounds which is capable of impacting lives and livelihoods in concrete terms.

He noted that the asphalt overlay in the Damongo municipality is the first of its kind in the region, stressing that lots of development projects are ongoing in the region and will be sustained as long as the NPP continues to be in power.

He pledged that the Damongo water project will kick start soon since water is the biggest problem in the Damongo municipality and dropped hints of return to the region to cut the sod for the construction of an inland port at Debre in the Central Gonja district of the Savannah region.

Yagbonwura Boresa, who spoke through his linguist, described the Vice-President as a very respectful and humble leader who he will always pray for and keep blessing for all that he is seeing in his kingdom.

He said the Member of Parliament for the Damongo constituency, Samuel Abu Jinapor, is doing very well in bringing development to the area, which he is very proud of.

Dr. Bawumia and his team later paid another courtesy call on Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor in his palace to thank him also for leading the Yagbonwura’s delegation to Walewale during the Adua of his late mother.
