Medeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko says his side must remain fully focused as they chase a decisive victory against Heart of Lions in a crucial Ghana Premier League encounter on Sunday.

League leaders Medeama SC host Heart of Lions at the TnA Stadium in Week 33 knowing that three points could move them within touching distance of a second league title.

Speaking ahead of the match, Tanko stressed the importance of maintaining concentration despite Medeama’s position at the top of the table.

“We want to win this game so that our chances will be almost 90% before the last game. So definitely we are going to work hard for this game,” he told Medi TV.

With only two matches remaining in the season, Medeama currently hold a two-point advantage over Bibiani Gold Stars, making Sunday’s fixture potentially decisive in the title race.

Tanko, however, warned his players against complacency, insisting that home advantage alone would not guarantee success.

“We are still leading the table, but I don’t think we should feel comfortable because we are playing at home. We have to prepare well, like any other game,” he added.

The former Ghana international has transformed Medeama into one of the league’s most consistent sides this season, combining discipline and attacking efficiency as the club edges closer to another historic moment.

Victory on Sunday would leave Medeama needing only one final push to secure the championship, while defeat or dropped points could reopen the title race heading into the final round of fixtures.

Kick-off at the TnA Stadium is scheduled for 15:00 GMT.
