Ghana winger Ernest Nuamah has promised Black Stars supporters that they will see him at his very best when the 2026 FIFA World Cup gets underway, as he prepares to make a long-awaited return to the global stage after a difficult spell on the sidelines.

Speaking from Ghana’s training camp in Cardiff, the 22-year-old expressed confidence in his readiness for the tournament after overcoming a year-long injury setback that threatened to derail his progress.

“You should expect the Nuamah you know,” he said. “I’ve trained very hard, and with the support of my teammates, I think I’m ready to give everything I can for this nation.”

Nuamah’s return comes as a major boost for Ghana, with the winger regarded as one of the country’s most exciting attacking talents. His recovery, however, has been far from straightforward.

“It hasn’t been easy for me getting an injury,” he admitted. “I’ve worked really hard to get to this point, and I can’t wait to give my all.”

The former Right to Dream Academy graduate also took time to thank Ghanaians for standing by him throughout his rehabilitation, acknowledging the encouragement and prayers that helped him through one of the toughest periods of his career.

As the Black Stars put the finishing touches to their World Cup preparations, Nuamah emphasised the importance of adapting to the tactical demands of head coach Carlos Queiroz and praised the commitment being shown within the squad.

“The challenge ahead is not going to be easy, but with hard work and dedication, we are going to achieve something,” he said. “With all your prayers, we can do something this time.”

Ghana face a demanding test in Group L, where they have been drawn alongside Panama, England and Croatia. The Black Stars begin their campaign against Panama on 17 June, hoping to make a strong start in their quest to progress to the knockout stages.

For Nuamah, the tournament represents more than just another international assignment. After months of recovery, resilience and determination, it is an opportunity to remind the football world of his talent, and fulfil his promise to the nation.

“The world is about to see what I can do,” his message appears to say.

Now, Ghanaian fans will be hoping he delivers on that promise when it matters most.
