The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, says the Ministry has begun closer collaboration with the Ministry of Finance to align priorities and accelerate reforms aimed at transforming Ghana’s energy sector.

In a Facebook post dated June 30, 2026, Dr Jinapor disclosed that he led heads of agencies under the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition to a strategic engagement with the Ministry of Finance to discuss key priorities across the petroleum, power and renewable energy sectors.

According to him, the meeting provided a platform for agencies to present their strategic plans and outline the support required from government to achieve their objectives.

“Each agency presented its strategic roadmap, outlining ongoing reforms, key priorities and the support required from Government to accelerate delivery across the petroleum, power and renewable energy sectors,” he wrote.

Dr Jinapor commended the Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, and his team for their commitment to supporting the transformation agenda in the sector.

He said he was encouraged by the Finance Ministry’s willingness to work closely with the Energy Ministry to advance priority interventions, in line with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of resetting and transforming Ghana’s energy sector.

The Energy Minister expressed optimism that stronger coordination between the two ministries would improve energy security, expand electricity access, attract investment, and accelerate Ghana’s transition to cleaner energy sources.
