Gideon Mensah makes impressive FC Köln debut in Real Sociedad win

Ghana defender Gideon Mensah made his first appearance in FC Köln colours as the German side secured a 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.

The left-back was handed a starting role and delivered an energetic performance, showing plenty of intensity and attacking intent as Köln continued preparations for the new Bundesliga season.

Mensah, who is looking to establish himself as an important part of the Köln squad, played with confidence throughout his first outing for the club.

The match also saw Ghanaian forward Ragnar Ache feature for Köln, giving the two compatriots an opportunity to share the pitch as the German side stepped up their preparations ahead of the new campaign.
