Thousands Gather in Kumasi to Honour Late Apostle Kwadwo Safo at Final Thanksgiving Service
Thousands of Kristo Asafo members, sympathisers and residents of Kumasi converged at the Prempeh Assembly Hall for a thanksgiving service held as part of the final funeral rites of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo.
The solemn gathering brought together family members, church members, dignitaries and well-wishers from different parts of the country to celebrate the life and legacy of the founder of Kristo Asafo.
Among those present was his daughter, Adwoa Safo, who joined her siblings and other relatives to bring the funeral ceremonies to a close.
The Prempeh Assembly Hall was filled to capacity as mourners participated in the service, while many others gathered outside the venue to follow proceedings.
Several Kristo Asafo members who spoke to Adom News reporter Kwadwo Obeng Mireku expressed gratitude to Adwoa Safo and her siblings for ensuring that their father’s final rites were completed despite the challenges encountered along the way.
One member described the successful conclusion of the funeral as a moment of joy and reflection, drawing symbolism from a rainbow reportedly seen in the sky during the ceremony.
“Honestly, we are happy that we have been able to bring our father’s funeral rites to a successful end here in Kumasi, and today the rainbow symbol appears in the sky, symbolising Apostle Kwadwo Safo was indeed an African star.”
The church member also praised Adwoa Safo for her determination to give her father what they described as a befitting farewell.
“All praise and honour be to God for His wonders. We also thank and bless Adwoa Safo for her boldness and determination to give her father a befitting final farewell,” the member added.
The thanksgiving service marked the culmination of funeral activities that began in Accra on July 30 and 31 before moving to Kumasi for the concluding ceremony.
Security personnel were deployed around the Prempeh Assembly Hall to manage the large crowd and ensure the event proceeded peacefully.
With the thanksgiving service successfully completed, family, friends and members of Kristo Asafo have now brought the final funeral rites of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo to a close, while reflecting on his contribution to the church and Ghanaian society.
