AFCON 2023 Qualifier: Clubless Andre Ayew dropped in Black Star XI against CAR

Captain of the Black Star Andre Ayew who is without a club has been dropped from the starting lineup to face Central African Republic (CAR) in the last AFCON 2023 qualifying game at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Andre’s younger brother Jordan Ayew who has been in fine form for his English Premier League side Crystal Palace has been named as the captain.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi maintains his place in the goalpost while Alidu  Seid, rejuvenated Baba Rahman, Joseph Aidoo  and Alexander Djiku form the back four.

The midfield two will be marshalled by Elisha Owusu, Abdul Samed Salis with the Osman Bukari, Kudus Mohammed  and Jordan Ayew behind  the lone  striker Inaki Williams.

Ghana needs at least a draw to book a place at next years AFCON in neighbouring Cote D’Ivoire.

The  game will kick off at 4pm local time.
