Asante Kotoko new signing, Zakaria Fuseini make’s earnest vow to make his way to the Black Stars after Kotoko transfer

Asante Kotoko’s new signing Zackaria Fuseini has set sights on working his way into the Ghana senior national team after joining the Porcupine Warriors.
Fuseini joined the record Ghana Premier League holders from former champions and continental record holders, Berekum Chelsea in a three-year deal ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 27-year-old, who made 32 appearances for the “Bibires” in the just concluded Ghana Premier League campaign and scored 3 goals with 1 assist made the sensational move from the Berekem outfit after being with the club for close to a decade and making 133 appearances for the side.
He has featured for Ghana’s U-23 side, the Black Meteors, making his debut in December 2018 and notching four (4) appearances for the national side.
His focus now is to work hard to earn a call up into the Black Stars in the near future.
Speaking to Kotoko Media, Zackaria said, “I’m honoured to be joining Asante Kotoko,” said Fuseini. “I believe this is the platform I’ve always hoped for to catapult my career to the next level.
“My focus is to win laurels with the club and to work hard for a place in the Black Stars, because I know I’m good enough. Some say this move is a few years late, but I don’t believe that.
“I’m arriving mature and experienced, and I’m ready to handle the pressure that comes with playing for such a big club.”
The stalwart centre-back had a brief stint with San Fernando CD in Spain on loan from Berekum Chelsea in 2020/2021 season but injuries kept him sidelined and rendered him unable to feature for a while until the end of his loan spell. He is expected to add depth to coach Karim Zito’s squad for next season’s domestic and continental campaign where Kotoko will feature in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
