Ashantigold SC striker Shafiu Mumuni has expressed shock over his Black Stars inclusion in the Black Stars 23-man squad for The up coming 2021 African Cup of Nations Qualifier against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.

The inform attacker was handed his maiden call up by Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah on Wednesday making him the only outfield local player in the squad.

Reacting to the call up, the Black Stars B skipper revealed that he was shocked to see his name in Ghana squad.

"This morning I saw my name in the squad and I was shocked. It is dew to hard work and determination", Shafiu told Fox FM in an interview.

The Ashanti Gold goal poacher further has had a great year as a footballer impressing for both club and country locally and in continental competitions.

He won the Golden boot of the 2019 WAFU cup of nations in Senegal after scoring an impressive 5 goals in 4 games, a feat the 24-year old is determined to replicate with the Black Stars.

"The Shafiu you see in Ashantigold and the WAFU, you will see the same Shafiu in the senior national team camp", the striker noted.
