Black Meteors set to continue preparations in Egypt for Africa U23 Cup of Nations

The Ghana U23 national team, popularly known as the Black Meteors, is set to travel to Egypt to intensify their preparations for the upcoming 2023 Africa U23 Cup of Nations.
The tournament is scheduled to take place later this month in Morocco.
Head coach Ibrahim Tanko will announce the final squad for the tournament before the team departs on Monday, June 8, 2023.
The team has been diligently preparing for the competition since May 23, 2023, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, where they started their training with a group of 22 local-based players.
To complete their pre-tournament preparations, the Black Meteors will now travel to Egypt for their training camp.
The final squad is expected to comprise a combination of both local and foreign-based players as they fine-tune their strategies for the competition.
Ghana has been drawn into Group A alongside the host nation, Morocco, as well as Guinea and Congo, both of whom are making their debut in the tournament.
The group stage matches promise to be highly competitive, as each team vies for a place in the knockout rounds.
The Africa U23 Cup of Nations is set to commence on June 24, 2023.
The top three teams from the tournament will secure an automatic qualification spot for the Paris 2024 Olympics, adding an extra layer of motivation and significance to the competition for the participating nations.
