Ghana’s national football team head coach, Carlos Queiroz, has embarked on a tour of Europe as part of early preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Portuguese manager, who was officially unveiled in Accra last week, began his duties by observing locally based players before travelling abroad to engage with members of the senior national team.

Since arriving in Europe on Sunday, Queiroz has already held discussions with key figures in the squad, including captain Jordan Ayew and midfielder Thomas Partey.

The Ghana Football Association says the tour will see the coach meet several senior and emerging players, while also attending matches involving Ghanaian footballers across European leagues. The aim is to build relationships, assess performance levels and outline his tactical vision ahead of the tournament.

Queiroz, who took charge of the Ghana national football team earlier this month, is being supported by his backroom staff throughout the trip. The technical team is expected to widen its scouting scope to include both established internationals and potential new call-ups.

The visit forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen squad cohesion and communicate expectations as Ghana prepares for its fifth appearance at the World Cup.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside England national football team, Croatia national football team and Panama national football team at the 2026 tournament, which will be hosted across Canada, Mexico and the United States.
