Cheltenham sign England-Ghana forward Kirsten Otchere from Leicester on loan

Kirsten Otchere, the 19-year-old England and Ghana centre-forward, has joined Cheltenham from Leicester City’s Under-21 side on loan.
The move was completed on 4 August 2026 and will keep Otchere at the League Two club until 31 May 2027. He will then return to Leicester U21 at the end of the loan.
Otchere moves into senior football after featuring for Leicester’s development teams. He made 19 appearances in Premier League 2, scoring nine goals and providing three assists. He also appeared in the Premier League Cup, the Premier League International Cup and the National League Cup during his time in Leicester’s system.
His record in Premier League 2 included a goal every 137 minutes, while his nine goals made up the largest part of his recorded scoring return in the competition. Otchere also registered three assists, giving him a direct contribution to 12 goals across his 19 appearances.
The forward joined Leicester U21 from Leicester’s Under-18 side on 1 July 2025, having progressed within the club’s academy structure. His move to Cheltenham represents his first listed switch away from Leicester and gives the League Two side a centre-forward who has played regularly in youth and development competitions.
Otchere’s recorded appearances also include five matches in the Premier League Cup, in which he scored once, and three in the Premier League International Cup, where he scored one goal and supplied one assist. He added a goal and an assist in a National League Cup appearance.
Cheltenham’s new forward is listed as having both English and Ghanaian nationality. His contract arrangement with Leicester remains in place during the temporary move, with the return date set for the close of the 2026-27 season.
Otchere has completed a loan move from Leicester U21 to Cheltenham through 31 May 2027.
