Ghana’s fast rising rapper, Kwesi Arthur has called on football administrators in the country to create more avenues for footballers which will help them to live a well accomplished life.
According to the Tema based rapper who is a passionate football fan, he grew up watching talented players whose football artistry did not see the light of day because the system was so difficult to penetrate.
He revealed that most of the players had to give up on their dreams and resort to other professions to make ends meet.
Speaking on the Celebrity Ride with Zion Felix, Kwesi Arthur called on football authorities to build facilities and avenues to help players reach the apex of their career.
“They should create more avenues for footballers or people with talents to get to the highest level because I know many people who have been playing football since the time we were kids and now most of them have to resort to going to look for jobs and money and stuff,” Kwesi Arthur said.
The VGMA award winner added, “I think the people in power should create more facilities and avenue so that people can explore their talents and get to the highest level.”
The BET nominee disclosed that he used to showcase his football talents in his hay days but had to put his football career on a hold after an unsuccessful stint with a local based club, Ajax.
“I have put football on hold for now, I use to play for Ajax but we often lost by 6 goals and sometimes 9 goal margins,” Kwesi Arthur said humorously.
Asked if he contributed to his team failure, the artiste said, “The team is made up of eleven players, so if anything goes bad, it’s the eleven of us.”
Kwesi Arthur is an astute fan of the Ghana Premier League and often wears replica jerseys of rival clubs, Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko in music videos.
Kwesi Arthur’s life and background is an inspiration for the Ghanaian youth who look up to him due to his unique style of singing and rapping. Within a year he has worked with the award winning artistes like Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, R2Bees, M.anifest and more.
