East Legon big boy grabbed by police for drugging women and publishing sexual content online

A 36-year-old businessman from East Legon, Accra, has been taken into custody following a coordinated security operation targeting the non-consensual distribution of intimate recordings and digital sexual exploitation.
Joshua Kojo Anane Boateng was apprehended on May 6, 2026, through a joint operation between the Ghana Police Service’s Cyber Crime Unit and the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).
At a press briefing on Tuesday, May 12, CID Director-General Commissioner of Police Lydia Yaako Donkor revealed that the accused had been operating a Telegram channel under the name “VIP Sleep Fetish 2025.”
Investigators allege that Boateng administered alprazolam — a sedative marketed under the brand name Xanax — to women without their knowledge, subsequently assaulting them, filming the encounters, and uploading the footage to the platform without victims’ consent.
Authorities further allege that the suspect regularly visited nightclubs in search of targets, where he would carry out the same pattern of offending before circulating the material online.
Items seized during the arrest include two iPhones, a basic mobile handset, a memory card, a Seagate external hard drive, a MacBook, an iSafe device, and empty sachets suspected to have held alprazolam and midazolam.
The electronic devices are now undergoing forensic examination, while the sachets have been referred to the Food and Drugs Authority for testing and classification.
Commissioner Donkor confirmed the suspect has been brought before a court and that the investigation remains active.
The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to combating technology-facilitated sexual crimes and is encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact the appropriate authorities.
