Police in the Eastern South Region have launched investigations into an alleged attempt by members of the Boadua Aduana Family to take over the Boadua Chief’s palace.

The action follows a complaint filed on Saturday, December 14, 2025, by the Bretuo Abusuapanin of Boadua, who alleged that members of the Aduana Family stormed the palace, damaged the main entrance and attempted to destroy a shrine in an effort to wrest control of the palace from the Bretuo Family.

Police arrested eight suspects in connection with the incident to assist with investigations. They are Baffour Kwame Agyei Kwabena Twum, Baffour Kwame Annor, Baffour Kofi Dankwa, Maxwell Frimpong, Eric Dankwah, Nana Kwaku Frimpong, Baffour Kwasi Ampaabeng and Baffour Yaw Anya.

The suspects have been granted enquiry bail and are expected to be arraigned before court on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

Police said calm has been restored at the palace following their swift intervention, preventing the incident from escalating into a wider chieftaincy dispute within the Boadua community.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
