Exco will deliberate on Kotoko’s request for reimbursement – Henry Asante Twum

The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum says that the Executive Council (ExCo) of the GFA are the ones that will decided whether to reimburse Kotoko for their expenses on the Ashgold match which was rescheduled.
Kotoko were due to play the miners on Thursday 19th May,2022 but late Wednesday night the Ghana Football Association(GFA) postponed the match citing security reasons.
The reds who were already in Obuasi ahead of the game on Thursday have expressed their displeasure about the late postponement and called on the GFA to refund their monies wasted on the abortive game to them.
Speaking in an interview with Graphic Sports, the spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association revealed that the Executive Council will deliberate on Kotoko’s request.
“It is the Executive Council which will take that decision so until a decision is taken, I really can’t tell how they will deal with the matter,” he told Graphic Sports in an interview
“The General Secretary and the FA president are out of town so when the call came from the Police and we were trying to see how best to go about the issue, we spoke to Emma (Dasoberi), the administrative manager of Kotoko and that was when he informed us that the team had already pitched camp at Obuasi.
“But under the circumstances, we couldn’t do much about it than to inform them that the game would not come off”, he explained.
“As for the reimbursement, once there is proof that I spent this, I spent that, it would be looked into because it’s not a big deal.
“Ashantigold can also raise an issue that they moved to camp and they also spent money, so it is no big deal, it’s a normal thing,” he stressed.
Kotoko is also demanding that no other game is played in the Ghana Premier League until their match day 29 clash against the miners is honoured.
On Monday 16th May, 2022, the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association(GFA) issued their verdict on the alleged match fixing scandal involving the miners and Inter Allies.
The two sides were found culpable of match fixing and match manipulation and were each demoted to Division Two effective the 2022/2023 season among several bans handed to officials and players of the two teams.
