Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has revealed alarming findings of recycled invoices, including some that originated from the Ministry of Roads and Highways during the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

Speaking during a post-budget interview on the Citi Breakfast Show on Friday, July 25, Dr. Forson disclosed that the Ministry of Finance has initiated a thorough investigation into questionable payment claims submitted for settlement.

“Some of the things we’ve picked up at the Ministry of Finance are the fact that we’ve seen a number of recycled invoices and some came from the Ministry of Roads,” he said.

The anomaly was first flagged by the current Minister of Roads and Highways, Governs Agbodza, who raised concerns about duplicated invoices that had made their way into the payment pipeline.

“The Minister of Roads himself informed us that he picked this up, so we should investigate those ones,” Dr. Forson said.
