GFA sets deadline for Black Stars head coach applications

The search for a new head coach for the Ghana national football team, the Black Stars, is underway, with the committee responsible for the selection setting a final deadline for applications.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee appointed a five-member committee, led by GFA Vice President Mark Addo, to identify a suitable and competent coach for the Black Stars.

Coaches interested in the position have until Friday, February 2, 2024, at 11:59 pm to submit their applications.

The committee is encouraging interested individuals to send their applications, including a curriculum vitae or resume and a mission statement, to the email address: [email protected]

The job description for the head coach includes overseeing the overall management of the Senior Men’s National Team, selection of players, tactical planning of training and games, and performance evaluation.

The coach is expected to build the capacity of the technical team, stay updated on the latest football trends, align with the GFA’s football philosophy, collaborate with the Technical Directorate for talent identification and development, and engage with media.

Applicants must be proven winners with coaching experience at the highest level, holding the highest football license with at least 15 years of football experience.

The successful candidate will also need a track record in team reconstruction, organization, and development of young talent, in addition to strong leadership skills and disciplinary abilities.
