Ghanaian-born Italian right-back Mike Aidoo made a significant step in his career with his first-team debut for Inter Milan during a preseason match against Las Palmas.
The 19-year-old Aidoo was introduced by Inter manager Simone Inzaghi in the 82nd minute, replacing centre-back Yann Aurel Bisseck in a game that saw Inter Milan secure a convincing 3-0 victory over the Spanish side.
Aidoo, who had been training with the first team while also playing in the Italian Primavera1 youth league last season, expressed his excitement about the debut.
“It was a very unique moment, something you always dream about, and thanks to God I had the opportunity to get on the field and share it with big players,” he reflected.
He also spoke highly of Inzaghi, describing him as a motivating force. “Simone Inzaghi is a really good coach. He just motivates you to do well and tells you to play how you do and be concentrated all the time,” Aidoo said.
The young right-back was praised by Inzaghi and his teammates for his performance, and he noted that the coach was pleased with the team’s overall effort.
Aidoo’s debut marks a promising start to what could be a bright future with the Serie A giants.
