Ghanaian international, Terry Yegbe is on the verge of sealing a move to French Ligue 1 club FC Metz before the close of the transfer window.

The highly-rated defender, who has been a key figure for IF Elfsborg in Sweden, will undergo his routine medicals before inking a three-and-a-half-year contract with Metz.

The transfer, valued at €4 million, is expected to become a record sale for Elfsborg, marking a significant step in Yegbe’s blossoming career. The deal is being finalized by AIT Management, who have overseen the player’s professional path.

Yegbe joined Elfsborg in February 2024 following an impressive campaign with SJK Seinäjoki in Finland, where he spent just one season. His strong performances quickly made him indispensable at the Swedish club.

On the international stage, the 23-year-old central defender has already been capped once by the Black Stars, featuring in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. He also represented Ghana’s U-23 side, the Black Meteors, at the 2023 U-23 AFCON, where he played in all the group matches.

If the move goes through as expected, Yegbe will become the latest Ghanaian to test his skills in Ligue 1, joining a competitive league that has long served as a launchpad for African talents.
