Former Hearts of Oak MD, Neil Armstrong Mortagbe, Confirms Plans for New Player Recruitment
Neil Armstrong Mortagbe, the former Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, has revealed that the club is actively engaged in recruiting new players for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
Following a challenging season for the Phobians, who currently find themselves just three points above the relegation zone with only one game remaining, Mortagbe acknowledged the disappointment felt by Hearts of Oak fans due to the team’s underwhelming performance. However, he expressed optimism about the club’s potential for improvement in the future.
Speaking to Citi Sports, Mortagbe revealed that the club’s management is fully aware of the areas where the team has been lacking and is actively working on addressing those weaknesses through new signings.
“Today, every Hearts of Oak fan will not be happy. But I still see a glimmer of hope in the team that we presented [this season].
“I believe that the management of Accra Hearts of Oak is looking at the areas where the club was weak, and they will definitely strengthen the squad ahead of the next season.”
Hearts of Oak’s decision to focus on player recruitment indicates their determination to bolster the team and make significant improvements for the upcoming campaign.
