Following a narrow 2-1 defeat to Accra Hearts of Oak on November 21 in Week 11 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Accra Lions’ Head Coach, Ibrahim Tanko, is unwavering in his determination to guide his team to victory in the upcoming clash against Aduana Stars this weekend.

In a post-match interview, Coach Tanko candidly acknowledged the setback against Hearts of Oak but emphasized the team’s resilience and commitment to overcoming challenges.

With the focus squarely on the upcoming encounter with Aduana Stars in Week 12, Tanko expressed confidence in his team’s ability to bounce back.

Reflecting on the previous match, Tanko commented, “I think we had a very good game. The goals they scored definitely are our fault. We have to go and prepare very well for the next game, but this is not the true reflection of the game.”

Acknowledging the inherent unpredictability of football, he added, “That is football; they have to score, and we know we can come back.

Sometimes you do everything you can, but it is not working. They won, and we congratulate them, but we have to go back and do our homework well for the next game.”

Coach Tanko’s optimism shines through as he looks ahead to the showdown against league leaders Aduana Stars this Sunday.

He expressed hope that Accra Lions can secure a crucial victory, propelling them higher in the Ghana Premier League standings.

Aware of the significance of this upcoming match, a win would not only serve as redemption but also potentially lift Accra Lions further away from the relegation zone.
