I’ll give everything for Hapoel – Ghana’s Douglas Owusu after his move

Ghanaian winger Douglas Owusu says he is eager to begin a new chapter in his career after completing his move to Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Tel Aviv.

The 20-year-old joins the Israeli club just months after signing for Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade in a reported €2.2 million transfer from Radnik Surdulica during the January transfer window.

The move offers Owusu the opportunity to secure regular first-team football as he continues his development in European football.

Speaking to Hapoel Tel Aviv’s media following the announcement of his transfer, the Ghanaian expressed his excitement about joining the club and promised to give his all for the team’s supporters.

“I am very excited to join this huge club. I saw the extraordinary displays of the crowd at the games, and I believe that together with the team, we will fight and give everything for Hapoel. I look forward to seeing you in Hungary. Come on Hapoel,” Owusu said.

Owusu earned widespread recognition during the 2025-26 season with Serbian side Radnik Surdulica, where his pace, dribbling ability and attacking threat established him as one of the league’s brightest young talents before he secured a move to Red Star.

Hapoel Tel Aviv will now hope the Ghanaian can quickly settle into his new environment and reproduce the form that has made him one of Ghana’s most promising young players abroad as the club prepares for the new Israeli Premier League campaign.
