New Aduana FC signing Shawkan Mohammed says he is eager to help the club achieve success after completing his move to the Ghana Premier League side ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The 23-year-old midfielder joined the two-time Ghana Premier League champions on a long-term contract as a free agent following his departure from Tunisian giants Club Africain.

Speaking after his official unveiling, Shawkan expressed his excitement at returning to Ghanaian football and beginning a new chapter with the Dormaa-based club.

“I’m proud to be part of the Ogya family. Together, let’s achieve great success on and off the field,” he said.

The midfielder returns to the Ghana Premier League after a brief spell in Tunisia, where he signed a three-year deal with Club Africain in 2024. However, limited playing opportunities saw both parties mutually agree to terminate the contract in January, allowing him to return home as a free agent.

Before his move abroad, Shawkan established himself as one of the league’s promising midfielders during his three seasons with Accra Lions. Having joined from lower-tier side Koowa Naso FC in September 2021, he made 68 appearances and scored once for the Accra-based club.

His performances earned him a move to North Africa, but the 23-year-old will now be looking to revive his career and fulfil his potential with Aduana FC.

The former Accra Lions midfielder is expected to add quality and experience to Aduana’s midfield as the Ogya Boys strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, with hopes of competing for major honours in the 2026/27 campaign.
