Crocked Asante Kotoko defender Abdul Ganiu is set to undergo a surgery to repair his torn knee ligament kn Germany soon, the club’s doctor has confirmed.

The 22-year old was flown to Germany last month to continue with his treatment following a series of setbacks in his recovery process.

Updating the media on Ganiu’s recovery process, Kotoko team doctor, Dr. Twumasi Baah Jnr disclosed that the player is responding well to treatment.

“I have been talking to Ganiu from time to time, by God’s grace we are at the tail end of the process for the surgery”, Dr. Twumasi told Fox FM on Friday.

“We will receive the bill for the surgery this week, it could even be today and will check my email soon.

“So very soon the surgery will be done because I have always been in contact with the player.

“We need the player and we want him back even sooner than any other person”, he added.

The Asante Kotoko doctor also debunked assertion that Ganiu has been treating the injury with local medicine.

“I’m not aware he applies local medicine and I don’t believe he is applying local medicine”, Dr. Twumasi said.

“As soon as we receive the bill from the hospital in Germany we will do for him just as we did for (Richard) Senanu”, he concluded.
