Ghanaian artiste Lasmid has opened up about the genres of music that influence his creative process.

Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie on Monday, December 8, 2025, the Friday Night hitmaker revealed the type of songs he enjoys during his leisure time.

“I listen to music a lot. Mostly, Muslim songs or Indian songs. It depends on the mood I am in, but mostly it is Muslim songs,” he said.

When asked why he is drawn to those styles, Lasmid explained: “I like it, you won’t get. That feeling? Somebody go fit do some style bi. They have a unique progression.” His own music often reflects similar melodic influences, including his verse on Kojo Blak’s latest track, Balance.

Music used in Islamic worship and many Indian compositions typically features microtones that differ from the standard diatonic scale commonly used in Western and contemporary African music.

Meanwhile, Lasmid has released a new single titled No Issues, which is already generating significant buzz.
